Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Licence

From 1st April 2018, St Augustine Academy has become a Directly Licenced Centre, meaning that over the next three years we can continue to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to our students. The whole process from enrolment to completion will now be managed in-house instead of through KCC.

The Award is open to all students in Years 9 and 10, and involves completing a Physical activity, learning a new Skill, taking part in Volunteering in the local community, and completing an Expedition in teams. Over the last 5 years we have had a number of students complete the Bronze level of the Award successfully, and we hope to use this opportunity to increase participation in the scheme, as well as developing the Silver level of the Award for older students.
