World Book Week

Every year, one of the most popular events in the Academy’s calendar is the World Book Week. This is celebrated with relish, enthusiasm and an amazing selection of activities and events all organised by our indefatigable team from the English Department and the Library.

Students could try to identify the ‘Shelfies’ (match photo of staff member with photo of their bookshelf), try their hand at a book version of ‘Pin the Tail on the Donkey’, complete book cover jigsaws, track down book titles as part of a Scavenger Hunt around the Academy, match book covers to the world country they related to and – of course – buy cakes donated by members of staff. Finally, there was a Mad Hatters Tea Party invitation for specially  invited students and a non-uniform day where students and staff were invited to dress up as a book character.
