Canterbury University PE visit

Students took part in a Sports Science conference at Canterbury Christchurch University where they were lucky enough to be introduced to - and use -  some of the amazing facilities in the sports laboratory.  They were involved in a sports psychology discussion about improving confidence in athletes and had a hands on session of biomechanics using camera tracking that is used to capture real time movement and that is used by FIFA and fortnite to accurately produce their CGI.   Moving to a physiology lab, they conducted lung function tests and VO2max testing along with an altitude chamber and reaction time testing. A great day that put theory into practice for their GCSE PE studies.
