Chance of a lifetime!

One of our year 11 students managed to secure an amazing opportunity – the chance to spend a work experience day at the Houses of Parliament courtesy of local MP, Helen Grant.

Victoria Laniyan relates the story of her day:

“The day of my work experience at the Houses of Parliament was the day of the first Meaningful Vote. I attended committee meetings about exiting the European Union, where I observed Steve Barclay, the Conservative MP for North East Cambridgeshire and Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, in action. In addition to that, I was allowed into the House of Commons where I witnessed a discussion about the EU withdrawal agreement between The Attorney General, Jeremy Corbyn, Theresa May and several other MPs representing their constituents. To conclude, I was briefed on the different roles and had the opportunity of meeting my local MP, Helen Grant as well.
