Academy Summer Fete

Inspired by the success of our first Christmas Fayre at the end of 2014, our two Enterprise Ambassadors, Lewis Muir & Kayleigh Osina, decided to organise our first Summer Fete. Despite still being students – in Year 10! – they took on the complex and hugely time consuming task with just a little extra help from Mr Attra and Ms Thomas. 21 stalls were booked for the day and were a mix of professional stalls and ones created and run by St Augustine students. One of the Academy stalls was run by a group of year 7s who had planned their activity – Soccer Stars – which involved scoring goals which their goalie, Mr Stedman, gamely attempted to stop. The remaining Academy stalls were run by an intrepid group of year 10 students who had not only spent 2 days creating the stalls and games but had also taken all the equipment and tables over to the field – and back again at the end of the fete. There were visits from West Borough and St Michael’s Primary schools and all Academy students also came over to the field to enjoy the Fete. A sizeable amount of money was raised and an enormous thank you was due to the two students for their Herculean efforts!
