Carol Concert

On Sunday 6th December,  St Augustine Academy joined forces with two of our local primary schools to present a Community Carol service with Maidstone United Football Club.

They were rewarded by a magnificent audience of 200 who turned up on a grey and damp Sunday afternoon. This year our theme was homelessness and our collection was for the Maidstone Winter Night Shelter. We are really pleased to have been able to collect £273 for a very worthy cause.

Joining the Academy students were the school choirs of St Michael's and Archbishop Courtenay Church of England Primary Schools. They all sang "Christmas Never Comes" and congregation was really moved by this beautiful song.

Our Academy signing choir under Mr Hewett also joined the massed choir for the singing of the ever-popular carol, ‘Away in a manger.’

Friendships were deepened and acquaintances made over a mince pie after the service.

Well done to all our students who took part.
