Charity Coffee Morning

The newly formed Senior Student Team has tackled an important fundraising event by putting on a Macmillan Coffee Morning at the end of September.
Staff were asked to donate cakes – homemade or otherwise! – and some were donated by parents as well the ones carefully created by students themselves.
They set out the cakes and drinks on one of our market stalls in the West Block breakout area at break and lunch and managed to sell all their cakes and drinks. 2 students also ran a deceptively simple but infuriatingly difficult game which raised further funds whilst a collecting bucket was taken around the Academy persuading students to donate all the loose change in their purses and pockets.
In the end, the Team had managed to raise £120 for the very worthy national charity. Head Boy, George Hall, said that it was ‘a good introduction to organising an event in the Academy and we were all delighted we got such a great result.’
