Race for Life

A gloriously sunny Wednesday afternoon saw the whole of the Academy take part in the ‘Race for Life’ to raise money for cancer research.  Although the weather was a bonus in setting the right atmosphere for the event, it did make the conditions very hot to run in.
The students and staff had the option whether to run or walk 1, 2 or 4 miles.  There were some students who completed the whole 4 miles with Brad Ryan setting the pace. Most students opted for the 2 miles.

It was great to see both students and staff taking part in this event and this will hopefully become an annual event for the Academy.  There are still a few more sponsorship monies to come in but so far, the total is an amazing £3084.15 for the charity. Two students raised £55 and £75 each but the individual student who raised the most was Connie with over £200 to her name.
A fantastic ‘well done’ to everyone who took part!
