Year 8 Food Enterprise Project

Over the course of terms 5 and 6, Year 8 students have trialled and tested different products that they have made in Food Technology.  They aimed to produce a minimum of twelve of their chosen items to sell at the end of term 6 in aid of Cancer Research UK. Every student did an amazing job and produced some scummy food! This project has been a collaboration between Food Technology and Enterprise, organised by Miss Gibbons and Mr Muir.

Each class had an allocated day on which they sold their products over the two weeks and on each of the four allocated days, large numbers of students and staff came in to show their support and doing an amazing job! A few staff and students came back for more as well!

Through this small project, students had set themselves a target of £100. Year 8 exceeded this target by £30.28 at the end of the second week. However, further collections of loose change in students’ and staff pockets, purses and wallets has meant that at the last count, the total was rapidly approaching £150.

Year 8 has done an amazing job and every penny donated will make a huge amount of difference to this very valuable charity. Well done everyone!
