Open Events draw in the crowds

St Augustine Academy was definitely the place to be in Maidstone on Thursday evening as parents of pupils at local primary schools descended on the Academy in force for our annual Open Evening. Keen to investigate a new school for their children for next September, our visitors were able to visit the whole building and see a huge range of displays, meet the staff, ask questions, try out equipment – and even do some experiments in the Science labs!

On Saturday morning, there was another chance to visit and our student tour guides were pleased to have Sunday to rest after their busy Thursday evening and Saturday morning expertly showing visitors around and answering questions.

One visitor was so impressed that he emailed the Academy to say: “Just wanted to thank everyone who facilitated and contributed to the open evening today. Both of my children dragged themselves in with the enthusiasm usually reserved for a funeral and came away really buzzing and excited! Our guides, Ellie and Hannah were thoroughly helpful, invisible when we wanted space to look around and materialising on the spot when it came to guidance or when we had questions for them. They really did the school redit. Many thanks to all the students and teachers who gave up their evening”.

If you missed the events or did visit and want to see us at work on a normal working day, you can book a tour on a Thursday morning starting at 9.15am: just ring Reception on 01622 752490 to book.
