Winners again!

Posted on: 8th Feb 2022

It’s been another successful week of sporting fixtures for us down in PE - we’re certainly making a habit of winning! Mr Baker reports on the latest success:

“On Wednesday I had the privilege of providing sporting opportunities of a different nature as we entered a KS3 team into the Maidstone District Schools Table Tennis Tournament at Maplesden Noakes School. Originally meant to be played between ourselves, MNS, Oakwood and Cornwallis, sadly staff shortages and other issues saw the other competing teams pull out – meaning it was just us and 3 teams from MNS playing. We proved successful on the day as 3 rounds of Table Tennis were played seeing us reign dominant with 4 out of 5 wins in each round. A Premier Final was played between us and MNS’ most successful team. The dominance continued in that final round as all 5 competitors won their games, leading to a 5-0 win in the final! Congratulations to Joe Lee, Riley Chan, Joshua Russell, Pranum Pun, Junior Loveday and Alex Stoean!

Thursday saw the year 8 boys play their Rugby Championship Final at Aylesford Bulls RFC, looking to add to the success previously seen by their older peers. We faced Maplesden Noakes in this fixture too and I am proud to say that we took home ANOTHER trophy – winning the game with a final score of 9 tries to 7 tries. Dominant carries by Jamar John and Luis Crouch, and the agile movement of Alfie Sturman and Louis Pay (year 7) saw the boys continue to increase the score tally throughout the game, as well as some dog like defence by the rest of the team that

kept MNS’ score lower than ours. Congratulations to them too!

It’s the turn of the year 7 boys next week as we look to go undefeated this term before Rugby stops for the year.”
