Focus on Careers

Posted on: 18th Jan 2023

Recently, our Year 11s went off timetable for a day of looking to the future. School uniform was not required and students were all smartly dressed in business attire. As part of this focus day, the Year 11s had a range of workshops that looked at CV writing, Personal Statements, managing stress and resilience and looking at how to apply for Post-16 providers. As well as this, they had a mock interview with an employer from outside the Academy. The aim of this day was to give Year 11s the opportunity to explore their options and give them real experiences that they can carry forward with them.

Then we hosted our annual Careers Fair. This is a great opportunity for our parents, carers and students - especially those in Years 10 and 11 - to meet local sixth forms, colleges, apprenticeship providers and other organisations that can support our students with their futures and decision making. This was a great opportunity for students to get all the relevant information to help them in their choice of what to do once they leave the Academy.
