Careers Focus Day
At the end of October, Year 11 students took part in a Careers Focus Day that looked at different career options as well as the options they have for further education at the end of Year 11. We had visitors from a range of different organisations; National Citizenship Service delivered sessions about managing stress and CV writing while the University of Kent gave us a visit by delivering a workshop focused around how to research universities and the courses they deliver. The Education People also came in and delivered a session about the Post 16 options that our Year 11 students have. To give the day a 'business' feely, Year 11 students were asked to come in wearing smart clothing and business attire to give them the sense of going to work for the day. Following a survey Year 11 students decided that the Managing Stress session was their favourite, particularly in the lead up to their GCSEs.
