Every year, students at St Augustine celebrate Harvest Festival by contributing to the Salvation Army’s collection of items for people in Maidstone who are struggling to provide for themselves. This year, with the extra strain of coping with day-to-day living with Covid-19 pressures, the need for support within the community is especially important.
Students and their families were asked for donations of food items and the resulting donations were then collected by each individual year groups who created magnificent displays of items for our photographs. As well as food, there were also items such as bubble baths, soaps, hand creams and one parent donated 3 superb hand-knitted blankets, one of which can be seen below.
A huge ‘thank you’ goes to all our kind and generous students and their families for enabling others in need to be able to enjoy some extra nourishment in these hard times.
