St Augustine Academy was bursting with pride last week as students took to the stage for their dazzling production of Grease. From start to finish, the show was a vibrant, high-energy celebration of talent, teamwork, and pure theatrical joy.

Our students worked incredibly hard in the lead-up to the performances, and it truly paid off. Every role was performed with commitment and confidence, and the entire cast gave their absolute all to bring this classic musical to life. The result was a seamless and highly entertaining production that left the audience thoroughly impressed.

We were also thrilled to welcome families, friends, and members of our wider community, whose presence and encouragement made the event even more special. Their support created a fantastic atmosphere that our students will never forget.

A particular highlight was welcoming Year 4 and 5 pupils from Barming Primary School and Palace Wood Primary School, who joined us for a special matinee performances. It was wonderful to see so many young visitors engaging with live theatre, — their excitement and positive energy added something truly special to the occasion.

Of course, a show of this scale requires an incredible team behind the scenes. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs Kearns, Mr Dewey, and Miss Bashford for their outstanding direction, musical expertise, and choreography. Their dedication, vision, and countless hours of work made the show possible and helped students shine on stage.

A huge thank you also goes to Mrs Owen and Mrs Berenyi, who set up and ran the ever-popular hot dog and milkshake stall — a perfect touch that added to the festive, 1950s vibe of the evening and was very much enjoyed by audience members young and old.

Grease wasn’t just a performance — it was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the spirit of St Augustine Academy. A huge well done to all involved. We already can’t wait for next year’s production!
