BackLeading the Way: Our Head Boy & Head Girl 2025
Posted on: 23rd Sep 2025Hello, I’m Ava. I’m in year 11 and I have the honour of being the academy’s Head Girl this school year.
I have always enjoyed being involved in the school council and student voice, as I have always wanted school to be an enjoyable place for everyone, as it really is the best place to get a student’s viewpoint across to the rest of the school and is an amazing way to mix teacher and student perspectives and opinions. I’ve always looked up to the Head Girl and Year 11 Leaders of the school and have seen them as a role model. I wanted to be like that for someone in a younger year group, and I’m so proud to be able to say that I could hopefully be a role model for those younger year groups, and I would love to be an inspiration for at least one person in my final year at St Augustine Academy.
This year I’m excited to have the opportunity to get more involved with the school’s Charity Events, Open Evenings, and just overall events that happen in the school, as it always Boosts Morale throughout the school and creates a strong and connected community. I love how in school during events, such as Red Nose Day last year, it excites everyone, and I would love to be apart of the creative process of making these Charity events and School activities come to life, and being able to see what students and teachers took time to make and seeing it all as one.
I can’t wait to see what this year brings for everyone across the school and how we will all continue to grow as a community as the year progresses. I hope to speak to you all again soon. Stay safe and well.
Ava
Hello, my name is Rafael. I am in Year 11, and I am very happy to have the opportunity to be Head Boy for this academic year. One of the many reasons I WANTED TO BECOME HEAD BOY IS THE SCHOOL’S open-mindedness towards ideas from both students and staff, which makes the academy feel safe and appreciated by everyone who steps into it.
It is always nice to see when people are able to form bonds with one another and even help them achieve their dreams, and especially have an enjoyable time learning every single day. I’ve always enjoyed learning in school because of the very compassionate environment the school can provide for everyone, and if that is not the case for some pupils, then I would like to help them and have their voice heard, because at St Augustine Academy, we are a community that only wants the best for everyone in the school.
I am blessed to partake in school events with the student council team because in these times, both students and staff create long-lasting memories and get to cherish these moments, along with school activities, which can peak students’ interests and can even help establish career choices in the future, helping people to decide what they want to do when they grow up.
I hope only to wish the best for everyone across this academic year to thrive to their maximum capabilities and go above and beyond with the help of our student council and, of course, our compassionate community. Good luck this year to everyone!
Rafael
