Question

Answer

What is SAA doing about mobile phones in school?

You may have seen recent media coverage about ‘phone‑free schools’. At SAA, we are always looking for ways to improve students’ concentration and learning. With this in mind, please make sure you read the letter being sent out on 30/01/26.

How do I contact a class teacher about a specific concern?

For lesson-specific issues it is always best to email the relevant teacher directly (copying the Head of Year in). We have increased the number of staff contacts available on our website, but if in doubt please go via your child’s Head of Year.

What happens to lost property?

The first thing your child should do is to retrace their steps until the point they believe they lost the item. Lost property found around the school site is taken to the Student Hub, so this is the next place to check.

Can Parent Forum meetings be held online?

Absolutely! This is our new system. Hope to see you there on 11th February. All feedback is welcome.

Can the meetings be 1 hour?

Our new system of asking for questions in advance should allow for these meetings to be smarter and more focused – but let’s see how things develop.

Can we start breakfast clubs at 7:30am (even if paid for?)

Unfortunately this is not possible at present due to the need for this to be a paid session and the projected low level of interest. We are more than happy to revisit this in the future.

Will there be a followup in the bulletin after Parent Forum?

Absolutely – we will introduce this from now. A recording of the meeting will also go onto our website.

I have a query related to SEND. What should I do?

Any SEND questions sent in have been passed to our SEND department. Why not attend one of their upcoming coffee morning events?

How will families be able to provide feedback to Ofsted when they visit?

An Ofsted Parent Questionnaire will be sent to families at the time of visit.

When is the meeting after this one? Can you include a QR code on the website?

Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 18th March at 5:30pm. We loved the QR code idea and have already introduced it.

Can we change name to be more inclusive to different family types?

Another fantastic suggestion! From our next meeting, the name will change to ‘Family Forum’.
