BackYear 8 Computing celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Mario and Donkey Kong
Posted on: 15th Jul 2021Friday, 9th July marked the 40th anniversary of the first appearance of Mario in a computer game - the game was called Donkey Kong and Mario had to wait two more years until he'd get his own game. To celebrate this, year 8 students have been looking at the evolution of the Mario character and the parallel evolution of computer games and gaming hardware, and have been "remixing" the original Donkey Kong game, adding their own unique twists to it.
