Year 10 go on Work Experience

Posted on: 14th Jul 2022

During the week of the 11th July 2022, Year 10 students have been experiencing the world of work. Back in September, students were tasked with finding themselves a Work Experience placement. This involved contacting employers, businesses and other organistions seeking the oppurtunity to spend a work with them to learn what it is like in a real work place. This fantastic experience provides students with the employability skills that they can carry forward from a young age for the rest of their lives. It has also been a fantastic opportunity for students to start writing their CVs, as they now have something that they can put on there.

We are so proud of the Year 10s as the majority of the year group went out on placement. A handfull of students remained in school to take part in workshops, sessions and activities delivered by employers and external organisations. They even supported the Year 6 transition days throughout the week, being true ambassadors for the Academy. Miss Smith, Director of Learning for Year 7 made personal contact with the parents/carers of these students to express her thanks and pride in their efforts.

Well done to all Year 10s, we are so proud of you! Thank you to all the employers, parents and carers who have supported the Academy throughout the entire process.

Thank you and well done from Ms Thomas and Mr Muir!
